Wesley B. Smith, 83, passed away Saturday, April 19, 2008. He was born May 4, 1924, in Nash County. He is preceded in death by his wife, Lorine R. Smith and son-in-law, Dennis H. Pittman. He was a longtime faithful member of Calvary Baptist Church.

He leaves to cherish his memory, one son, Keith Smith of Rocky Mount; one daughter, Vicki S. Pittman; one brother, Sylvester Smith; two grandsons, Kevin D. Pittman and Jason T. Pittman and wife, Brandy; and one great-granddaughter, Aubrey Denise Pittman.

The family received friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, April 21, 2008, at Johnson Funerals and Cremations, 661 English Road, Rocky Mount. A graveside service was held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 22, 2008, at Rocky Mount Memorial Park.
