James Dallas Morris, age 79, of Nashville, passed away on Monday, January 15, 2018. Born in Edgecombe County on November 22, 1938, he was the son of the late Herman Morris and Elsie Jackson Morris. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Lily Pearl Morris; and daughter, Traci Melissa Morris.

He is survived by his sons, James Dean Morris and wife, Vickie, of Rocky Mount, and Lance Jackson Morris and wife, Lisa, of Nashville; and daughter, Staci Maureen Morris of Hickory; five grandchildren; one great-grandson and a great-granddaughter on the way; brother, Johnny Morris; and sisters, Betty Morris of Rocky Mount and Margaret Bulluck of Battleboro.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 19, 2018 at 2 p.m. at Fellowship Church of Nashville with the Rev. Larry Tuggle officiating. Burial will follow at Rocky Mount Memorial Park. A visitation will be from 12:00 Noon to 1:30 PM prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Safe Harbor Rescue Mission, 210 2nd Street, SE, Hickory, NC 28601.
