NASHVILLE - Lottie Vanhook Hendricks , 82, died Saturday, July 15, 2006. She was born June 26, 1924 daughter of the late James Arthur and Carrie Cook Vanhook. Her husband, Samuel Relmond Hendricks; sisters Evelyn Turner, Velma Rowland, and brother Garland Vanhook preceded her in death. She was a member of Elm Grove Baptist Church, Nashville.

Survivors include her son, Sammy A. Hendricks and wife, Barbara of Nashville; one granddaughter; sisters, Rachel Norfleet of Chesapeake, Va., Shirley Overton and husband, Jimmy of Kinston, Janette Hollifield and husband, James of Nashville, Faye Edwards and husband, Eugene of Nashville, Raye Matthews and husband, Jimmy of Nashville; brother, John W. "Shorty" Vanhook of Nashville; four nieces and seventeen nephews.

Services were held Tuesday, July 18, 2006 at 10 a.m. at Rocky Mount Memorial Park, with the Rev. Mike Edwards officiating.
