DORTCHES – Dorothy Lucille Adams, 75, died on Thursday, July 13, 2006. Funeral services were held Sunday, July 16, at Wheeler and Woodlief Funeral Home with the Rev. Jerry Braziel officiating. Burial followed at Rocky Mount Memorial Park.

She was born Sept. 12, 1930 in Halifax County, the daughter of the late Johnnie and Vallie Duke Tippette.

She was preceded in death by a son, Larry Adams, and a brother, MacDonald Tippette.

Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Willie Adams Jr.; daughters, Brenda Weaver and husband, Doug of the Salem Community, Sandra House and fiance J.W. Gay of Dortches, Cathy Edwards and husband, Mike of Spring Hope, and Terry Lynn Parker and husband, Danny Ray of Rocky Mount; daughter-in-law, Margie Adams of Dortches; sons, Randy Adams and wife, Linda of Red Oak and Tracy Adams and wife, Jan of Spring Hope; sister, Betty Freeman of Red Oak; brothers, Johnnie Tippette Jr. and wife, Elsie of Enfield, Rabon Tippette of Battleboro, and Bobby Tippette and wife, Betty of Garner; brothers-in-law, Bill Harris and Woodrow Peaden of Tarboro; 20 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren.
