Robert Lynwood "Mitch" Mitchell, 76, of Washington, DC and formerly of Spring Hope, passed away on Tuesday, December 12, 2017.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, December 16, 2017 from Union Hill Bapitst Church in Nashville with Rev. Sidney Dunston officiating. Burial followed in the St. Hope Church Cemetery.

He is survived by his wife Hattie Joyce Mitchell of the home; three sons, Jeffrey Mitchell and his wife, Tongeia, of Greensboro, Gary Taylor, and his wife, Cathleen of Nashville, and Jerome Taylor and his wife, (Christina of Rocky Mount; one sister, Laurice Brinkley of Spring Hope; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
