Benjamin Wayne Tyson, 91, passed away Thursday, December 14, 2017. He was born July 31, 1926 in Nash County to the late Charlie and Mamie Layton Tyson. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by brothers, Randolph, Richard Sr., Alvin, Willie and Hubert Tyson, Louis, J.W. and Ernest Bowden, sisters, Bessie and Rochelle Tyson, Johnnie Bell and Louise Bowden.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Joyner Tyson; son, Mike Tyson and wife Sandy; brother, Robert Tyson; two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Services were held Sunday, December 17, 2017 in the Chapel of Cornerstone Funeral Home with Rev. Robin Fisher officiating. Burial followed at Rocky Mount Memorial Park.
