Vera Barnes Bell, age 99, passed away on Sunday, December 17, 2017. Born in Nash County, on November 21, 1918, she was the daughter of the late Elisha Ozias Barnes and Emma Davis Barnes. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Stancil Bell; sisters, Agnes Barnes, Mae Elks, Gladys Proctor; and brothers, James Barnes, Carl Barnes, and Joe Barnes.

She is survived by several cousins, nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 20, 2017 at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home & Cremation Services with Marvin Stallings and Pastor C. J. Cauble officiating. Burial will follow at Rocky Mount Memorial Park. The family will receive friends and relatives on Tuesday, December 19, 2017 from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM at Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home.
