Stephen Douglas Ellis, 72, passed away on December 6, 2017.

Born May 12, 1945, in Wayne County, he is preceded in death by his parents, John Brantley and Virginia Earp Ellis; his wife, Gloria Tyndall Ellis, brothers John B. Ellis, Edward B. Ellis, William H. Ellis, Robert W. Ellis, Charles B. Ellis, Thomas B. Ellis and Richard B. Ellis, sister Carolyn E. Munn.

He is survived by his sons Gary (Julie), Kevin (Karen), both of Rocky Mount; four grandchildren; brothers James Ellis (Margaret) of Reno, NV, Jerry S. Ellis (Mickey) of Birmingham, AL and Larry G. Ellis of FL, and a sister Dorothy E. Gower of Las Vegas, NV.

Services were held Sunday, December 10, 2017 with Pastors Dave Grogan and Carl Gibbs, at Peoples Fellowship Baptist Church, Rocky Mount.
