ROCKY MOUNT - Marian Harris Hughes, 73, passed away April 2, 2008 . She was the daughter of Hiram Joseph Harris and Hazel Williams Harris of Rocky Mount. She was preceded in death by her son, Richard Wayne Hughes and parents.

She leaves to cherish her memory her husband John Edward Hughes, Sr. of the home; sister Patricia Harris Spencer and husband Jimmy of Winston-Salem, NC; sister-in-law Kathryn Hughes Ricks and husband Glenn of Rocky Mount; two sons, John Edward Hughes, Jr. and wife Louise, David Harris Hughes and wife Lisa of Dunn, NC; five grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews.

Funeral arrangements were handled by Wheeler and Woodlief Funeral Home.

Visitation was at Wheeler and Woodlief Funeral Home, Saturday, April 5, 2008 from 7:00 – 8:30 pm . Services were be held 3:00 pm on Sunday, April 6, 2008 at Wheeler and Woodlief Funeral Home.
