Arthur Paul Hyman, Sr., age 70, of Rocky Mount, passed away on Thursday, October 5, 2017. Born in Edgecombe County on November 20, 1946, he was the son of the late Oswald Hyman and Zelma Jane Craft Hyman. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Chauncy Lee Hyman, William Oswald Hyman, Thomas A. Hyman, Sr., Richard T. Hyman, Benjamin Francis Hyman; and sisters, Gladys Hyman Gatlin Curtis, and Mary Ellis Hathaway.

He is survived by his son Arthur Paul Hyman, Jr. of Nashville; and daughter, Lisa Hyman Tunstall and husband, Joseph, of Rocky Mount; 3 grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 9, 2017 at 1 p.m. at Barnes Hill Free Will Baptist Church, Nashville with the Rev. Dick Singleton officiating. Burial will follow at Edgecombe Memorial Park. A visitation will be 11 a.m. - 12:45 p.m. prior to the service.
