DeShawn J. Williams, 25, of Elm City, passed away Tuesday, September 26, 2017.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 3, at 1 p.m., from the Mt. Vernon Baptist Church in Nashville with Bishop Brian Alston officiating. Burial will follow in the Oakland Cemetery.

DeShawn is survived by his mother, Anita W. Anderson (Marcas) of the home; his father, Royal Powell of Rocky Mount; sister, Janelle Anderson of the home; five brothers, JaQuan, Royal and Tyrell Williams. all of the home, Tevon Silver of Rocky Mount, Markell Whitaker of Enfield; his maternal grandmother, Bonita Richardson (Michael) of Nashville; and paternal grandmother, Betty Powell of Rocky Mount.
