Edith Mae Hill Wheeler, age 88, of Rocky Mount, passed away on Saturday, September 16, 2017. Born in Edgecombe County on May 19, 1929, she was the daughter of the late John Casey and Lizzie Mae Hill Williams. She was also preceded in death by her loving husband of 37 years, Sam Wheeler, Jr.; and step-sister, Irene Vick.

She is survived by her son, Paul Timothy Wheeler and wife, Kathy, of Rocky Mount; and daughters, Jo Ann Wheeler Allen and husband, Waymouth, of Rocky Mount, and Jeva Wheeler Hess and husband, Carlos Vazquez, of Rocky Mount; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one great great-grandchild; and sister-in-law, Mattie Sprinkle of Bunn.

Services were held Monday, September 18, 2017 at Union Missionary Baptist Church, Rocky Mount with the Rev. Ray Barnhill officiating. Burial followed at Pineview Cemetery.
