Frank Jay Slone, age 91, of Spring Hope, passed away on Friday, September 15, 2017. Born in Carter County, KY on April 3, 1926, he was the son of the late Jasper Slone and Marian Ruth Yates. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 69 years, Patricia "Pat" Ann Sinnette Slone; son, Frank Richard Slone; daughter, Deborah Ann Slone Kornegay; and brother, Wilbur Slone.

He is survived by his son, Robert Bryan Slone and wife, Patricia, of Spring Hope; 5 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; son-in-law, Robert D. Kornegay, Jr.; and several nieces and nephews.

Services were held Monday, September 18, 2017 at Church of the Good Shepherd, Rocky Mount with the Rev. Matthew Johnson officiating. The Inurnment Service followed at the Church's Columbarium.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Debbie Kornegay Fund, Church of the Good Shepherd, 231 N. Church Street, Rocky Mount, NC 27804.
