Cathy Winstead Barnes Viverette, age 61, of Rocky Mount, passed away Thursday, August 31, 2017. Born in Nash County on July 14, 1956, she was the daughter of Welford "Bill" Winstead and Loretta Joyner Winstead. She was preceded in death by her father, Bill Winstead; and son, Jeffrey Allen Winstead.

She is survived by her mother, Loretta Winstead of Rocky Mount; husband, Dennis Ray Viverette; sons, Christopher Clayton Barnes and wife, Melissa of Blowing Rock, Jeremy Ray Viverette of Momeyer; and daughter, Melissa Viverette Alston and husband, Clifton, of Nashville; 8 grandchildren; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, September 5, 2017 at 1 p.m. at Rocky Mount Memorial Park. The family will receive friends and relatives on Monday, September 4, 2017 from 6 - 7:30 p.m. at Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home & Cremation Services.
