Blanche Adgerneen Matthews, 84, of Nashville, passed away Tuesday, August 15, 2017. She was born November 26, 1932 to the late Randolph and Della Joyner Morgan. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a sister, Elma Leigh Sherrod.

Survivors include her husband of 66 years, Carl Matthews; three sons, Mike Matthews and wife Terry, Brent Matthews, Chris Matthews and wife Joyce; two daughters, Gennie Bose and husband Carl, Lisa Bunting and husband Frankie; one brother, Pete Morgan; two sisters, Hilda Edwards and Teeny Matthews; eight grandchildren; great-grandchildren, Landon, Braxton and Brooke Bunting, Jaxson Smith, Adam Matthews and Samuel Hershey.

Visitation will be Saturday, August 19, 2017 from 1 to 2 p.m. at Mount Zion Freewill Baptist Church with funeral service to follow at 2 p.m. with Rev. Ronnie Aycock officiating. Burial will be at Mount Zion Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Friends of Hospice at 2460 Curtis Ellis Drive, Rocky Mount NC 27804.
