Kathleen Grigg Wright, 84, passed away Monday, March 24, 2008. She was born August 30, 1923 to the late George Ivey Grigg and wife, Johnnie Shuford Grigg. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Woodrow W. Wright.

She is survived by daughter, Kathryn M. Wright of Boston, MA; son, Steve Wright and his wife, Mary of Rocky Mount; sister, Madeline Parker of Shelby, NC; brother, Jessie Grigg and his wife, Polly of Tuscaloosa, AL; grandchildren, Katherine Muse Wright of Elon, NC, Stephen Jeffress Wright of Albuquerque, NM, and Jane Wright Chestnut of Ocracoke, NC; along with 4 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Englewood United Methodist Church, 300 S. Circle Drive, Rocky Mount, NC 27804 or the Alzheimer’s Research Foundation, 225 N. Michigan Ave., Fl. 17, Chicago, Il., 60601-7633.

A funeral service was held at 4:00 pm Thursday, March 27, 2008 at Englewood United Methodist Church with Rev. John Wenberg, Jr. officiating. The family received friends Wednesday, March 26, 2008 from 5:00 – 6:30 pm at Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home and afterwards at the home of Steve and Mary Wright.
