James Richard "Rick" Sharpe Jr., age 73, passed away on Thursday, August 10, 2017. Rick was the son of the late James Richard "Buddy" Sharpe Sr. and Elsie Eason Sharpe. He was also preceded in death by his sister Linda Sharpe Douglas and nephew Matthew Douglas.

He is survived by his daughter, Sandra Denise Sharpe; son, James Richard "Little Rick" Sharpe III; two grandsons; brother-in-law Johnny Douglas, two aunts and one uncle and many cousins and other family members.

A graveside service was held on Sunday, August 13, 2017 at Cedar Grove Cemetery in Elm City.
