Bessie Boone Oakley passed away on July 22, 2017. She was predecased by her parents, Connor and Florence Boone, her husband Dewey C. Oakley, her sister Nina Boone Jones.

She is survived by her sons, Ken Oakley and wife Debra, Tim Oakley and wife Cindy, and Steve Oakley and wife Patricia; daughters, Nancy Rackley and Denise Hill; eight grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Edgemont Baptist Church, 1622 West Mount Drive, Rocky Mount, NC 27803.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, July 26, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Rocky Mount Memorial Park.
