Thurman Reginald Pierce passed away at his home on Friday, June 30, 2017 He was born in Hobgood on March 25, 1927. His parents were the late William Thomas Pierce and Bessie Bell Pierce. He was preceded in death by his wife, Louise Staton Pierce, his sisters, Nannie Harris, Pattie Taylor and Sarah Riner, and his brothers, Wiley Pierce, Bill Pierce and Cornelius Pierce.

He is survived by his sons, TR Pierce, Jr of Jackson, WY and Kenny Pierce and his wife, Anne, of Nashville; his daughter, Brenda Cogdell and her husband, Haywood of Nashville. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren;12 great grandchildren.

Services were held Monday, July 3, 2017 with Ralph Brown officiating. Burial followed at Hobgood Cemetary later in the afternoon. The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations be made to Tri-County Industries, 1250 Atlantic Avenue, Rocky Mount, NC. 27801.
