Charles Albert "Al" Boone, age 88, of Red Oak, passed away on Tuesday, June 27, 2017. Born in Lee County, NC on February 10, 1929, he was the son of the late John Claude Boone and Mary Little Boone. He was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Margaret Elizabeth Boone and two sisters, Mary Florence Nooney and Jean Yeargen.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Nell Boone; sons, Bert Boone and his wife, Donna, of Nashville, and Neal Boone and his wife, Mary, of Red Oak; 4 grandchildren; one great-grandson; brother, Johnny Boone and his wife, Kay, of Wilmington; sister, Ruth Brannon and her husband Lloyd, of Birmingham, AL; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 30, 2017 at 3 p.m. at Red Oak Baptist Church, 5515 Red Oak Road, Battleboro with the Rev. Nate James officiating. Burial will follow at Red Oak Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Red Oak Baptist Church, 5515 Red Oak Road, Battleboro, NC, 27809 in memory of Al.
