SANDY CROSS – Gracie Hyde Sherrod, 93, died Monday, March 10, 2008. Graveside services were held at the Sherrod family cemetery on March 13 with the Rev. Ron Hawley officiating.

She was born on Oct. 25, 1914 in Nash County, the daughter of the late Frank and Sydney Batchelor Hyde. She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Hassell Sherrod; four brothers and two sisters.

Survivors include one daughter, Judy Sherrod of Nashville; two sons, Albert Donald Sherrod and wife, Lois of Nashville and James H. Sherrod of the home; sister, Thelma H. Long of Nashville; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
