Sarah Cole Thomas, age 69, of Rocky Mount, passed away Sunday, May 14, 2017. Born in Ringgold, GA on January 11, 1948, she was the daughter of Joel Eugene Cole, Sr. and Billie Johnson Cole. She was preceded in death by her father; and sister, Janet Elaine Cole.
She is survived by her daughter, Janet Thomas Poyser and husband, David William of Edinburg, VA; her mother, Billie Johnson Cole of Vernon Hill, VA; four grandchildren; brothers, Joey Cole (Sandi) of Vernon Hill, VA; Jeff Cole (Cheryl) of Vernon Hill, VA; and Russ Cole (Frank) of Atlanta, GA; sisters, Libby Hendricks (Merle) of Rocky Mount; and Teresa Crawford (Doug) of Leola, PA; nieces, nephews and their numerous children.
Services were held Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at First Baptist Church, Rocky Mount with the Rev. Bill Grisham and Rev. Larry Curtis officiating.
