CASTALIA – Lee S. Silver, 88, died Monday, Feb. 25, 2008. Funeral services were held March 1 at the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Linda Taybron officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.

Survivors include his wife, Martha Lean Silver of the home; three daughters, Lula Mae Richardson of Richmond, Va., and Bettie Jean Dale and Yvonne Jefferson, both of Castalia; five sons, William L. Silver and Johnny A. Evans, both of Louisburg, Howard L. Silver of Hollister, Robert A. Silver of Castalia and Michael E. Silver of Rocky Mount; 23 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
