Calvin Kearney Thorne, 63, of Bailey passed away Saturday, March 25, 2017. His funeral will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday at Joyner's Funeral Home, Wilson. A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday in Bailey Town Cemetery, Bailey. The Rev. Walter Blackman and Rev. Johnny Kent will officiate.

He is survived by his wife of forty-one years, Gale Thorne of the home; his son, Brad Thorne of Bailey; two grandsons; sister, Teresa Wooten and, Pete of Bailey; his brothers, J.C. Bryant and wife, Brenda of Tarboro, and Norman Bryant of Bailey, and his mother-in-law, Marion Bradley of Bailey.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Azell and Ira Thorne; sisters, Ruth Bissette, Carol Boone, and Faye Williams, and his brother, JB Bryant.
