Jayne T. Whitaker, 73, of Nashville, passed away Wednesday, March 1, 2017. Funeral services were held Monday, March 6th from the Union Hill Baptist Church in Nashville. Burial followed in the Rocky Mount Memorial Park Cemetery. The Rev. Douglas Leonard officiated.

She is survived by her husband Alexander Whitaker; sons, Basile P. Whitaker (Angela) of Sandy Spring, Md., and Vada K. Whitaker of Raleigh; sisters, Mildred Trotman of Princeton, NJ and Omega Davis (Clarence) of Rocky Mount; brothers, William "Bill"Thomas (Lucy) of N. Brunswick, NJ and Don Thomas (Ceveak) of Capital Heights, Md.; 5 grandchildren.
