Jimmy D. Jones, Sr., 84, of Mt. Pleasant passed away Thursday, February 9, 2017. His funeral was held Sunday, February 12th at Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church, Bailey. Interment followed in Bailey Town Cemetery, Bailey. The Rev. Charles Robl and Rev. Carlos Castano officiated.

He is survived by his wife, Judy Jones of the home; his daughter, Jeannine Trimmer and husband, Bill of Bailey; his sons, Jimmy Jones, Jr. and wife, Barbara of Bailey, and Jeffrey Jones and wife, Candace of Bailey; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren, and his sister, Betty Lou Vaughn and husband, Ervin of Bailey.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John R. Jones, Sr. and Sadie Leigh Jones, and his brother, John Raymond Jones, Jr.

In lieu of flowers, memorials have been requested in Jimmy's memory to the Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church, 9289 S NC Hwy 581, Bailey, North Carolina 27807.
