Mary Elizabeth Bryant Barnes, 86, passed away Friday, February 10, 2017. She was born in Nash County April 28, 1930 to the late Howard and Mary Baines Hathaway Bryant. In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband, George Barnes; and a daughter, Edna B. Blanchard; brother, Dwight "Tom" Bryant and a sister, Shirley Bryant.

She is survived by daughters Judy Barnes Rowe, Mary Barnes Wells; five grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; brother, Willard Bryant and sister, Doris Medlin.

A funeral service was held Sunday, February 12, 2017 at Cornerstone Funeral Home of Nashville.
