Doris Redmond Brake, age 93, of Rocky Mount, passed away on Friday, February 10, 2017. Born in Wilson County on August 14, 1923, she was the daughter of the late William German Redmond and Margie Williamson Redmond Williford. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Spencer Brake, daughter, Billie Doris Brake Sisk; sisters, Meredith Clark, Ella Ruth Madigan, Frances Weaver, Mamie Hendershot and Margie Jones.

She is survived by her daughter, Sandra Brake Andrews and her husband, Billy of Bethel; 5 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two great great-grandchildren; sisters, Barbara Braziel of Elm City and Brenda Lucas of Rocky Mount. many nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, February 13, 2017 at 2 p.m. at Pineview Cemetery with Rev. Delmus Ayers officiating. The visitation with the family will follow the service.

Flowers are welcomed and or memorials may be made in Doris's name to the local Edgecombe-Nash Humane Society, P.O. Box 1783, Rocky Mount, NC 27802-1783.
