Franklin "Raymond" Dorsett, Jr., age 85, of Rocky Mount, passed away Thursday, December 15, 2016. Born on September 14, 1931, to the late Franklin R. Dorsett, Sr. and Elsie Thames Dorsett, he was a lifelong Rocky Mount resident.

Raymond was preceded in death by his wife, Anne Blunt Dorsett, his three sisters, Frances Griffin, Elsie Jane Dozier (Richard), and Ann Brown (Jimmy) as well as brother and sister-in-law, David Rose and Joyce Blunt Rose and nephew, Larry Brown.

He is survived by his daughter, Jo Dorsett Lea and husband, Philip, of Rocky Mount; two grandchildren; brother-in-law, Milton Griffin; ten nieces and nephews.

Services were held on Saturday, December 17, 2016 at First Baptist Church, Rocky Mount with Dr. Jody Wright officiating.
