Julia Krawec Hines, age 96, of Rocky Mount, passed away on Monday, December 5, 2016. Born in Sylvan, Manitoba, Canada on December 1, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Michael Krawec and Anastasia Zapotochny Krawec. She was also preceded in death by her husband, John W. Hines; brothers, John Krawec, Dmytro Krawec, and Paul Krawec; and sisters, Annie Metza and Mary Lucyk.

She is survived by her sons, John W. Hines, Jr. and wife, Jin, of Danville, VA; and Michael Hines and wife, Donna, of Rocky Mount; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; brothers, Tony Krawec and wife Ollie; and Walter Krawec and wife, Krystyna, both of Winnipeg, Manitoba; plus a host of nieces and nephews.

A funeral mass will be held on Friday, December 9, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Rocky Mount with the Father Tim Meares officiating. Burial will follow at Oak City Cemetery. The family will receive friends and relatives on Thursday, December 8, 2016 from 7- 8:30 p.m. at Wheeler and Woodlief Funeral Home & Cremation Services.
