Paul Madison Sykes, 93, passed away Sunday morning, November 27, 2016. He was born on September 16, 1923 in Nash County to the late Ed and Minnie Sykes. Paul was preceded in death by his wife, Lorene Swanson Sykes, daughter, Donna Sykes, brothers, Joseph and Gerald.

He is survived by four daughters, Paulette Griffin and husband George Allen, Gail Moeller and husband Bill, Sandra Walker and husband Buddy, Pam Nunez and husband Raul; two brothers, Lervern and Eslie; three sisters, Beulah Hudson, Myrtle Harris, and Magdalene Bartholomew; seven grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Tuesday evening November 29, 2016 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at Cornerstone Funeral Home.

A service to celebrate Paul's life will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, November 30, 2016 at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Chet Harvey and Rev. Frankie Carroll officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Grove Church Cemetery.
