Mary B. Battle, of Washington, DC, passed away on Friday, November 11, 2016.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 18, 2016 at 12 noon from Social Union Baptist Church in Nashville with the Rev. Terry Dunnings officiating. Burial will follow in the Gardens of Gethsemane cemetery.
Survivors include five daughters, Florine Best and her husband, Louis, of Dover, DE, Mary Sherrod, of Rocky Mount, Annie Battle, of Nashville, Francis Jones and her husband, Neal, of Temple Hills, MD and Joanna Gates and her husband, Edward, of Hialeah, FL; two sons, Julian Battle and his wife, Vanessa, of Upper Marlboro, MD and Joseph Battle, of Raleigh; four sisters, Bertha Linzy, of Washington, DC, Doretha Williams, of Baltimore, MD, Laura Phillips, of Battleboro and Tina Nicholson, of Rocky Mount; 20 grandchildren; 45 great grandchildren and seven great great grandchildren.
