Lou Hawkins Hollowell, age 75, of Rocky Mount, passed Thursday, October 20, 2016. Born in Nash County on September 5, 1941, she was the daughter of the late John Ervin Hawkins Sr. and Eunice Wood Hawkins. She was also preceded in death by her infant son Daryl Scott Hollowell.

She is survived by her husband, Billy Ray Hollowell; sisters, Jackie Southerland (Jimmy), Violet Gupton, Nancy Gullie (Glen), Kathy Manning (Tim); brothers, John Ervin Hawkins Jr. (Wilma) and Bruce Hawkins, sister-in-law Faye Chappell.

Flowers are welcomed or memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society at Conquer Cancer Foundation PO Box 896076 Charlotte, NC 28289-6076.

A funeral service was held Sunday, October 23, 2016 in the Chapel of Johnson Funeral Home & Cremation Services. Burial followed at Pineview Cemetery.
