Evelyn Mae Whitfield Adams, age 95, of Rocky Mount, passed away on Tuesday, October 11, 2016. Born in Nash County on November 6, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Fred Cornelious Whitfield and Mattie Frances Whitfield. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Arnold Lott "Bill" Adams; son, Alton Whitfield Adams; and sisters, Angerlane Whitfield Williams and Florence Whitfield Worrell.

She is survived by her sons, Adam Fred Adams (Lois) of Rocky Mount; and Arnold Kent Adams (Becky) of Morehead City; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Bob Williams of Rocky Mount.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, October 15, 2016 at 11a.m. at Pineview Cemetery. A visitation with the family will follow the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Christian Church, 1101 West Haven Blvd., Rocky Mount, NC 27803.
