David Daniel Cockrell, 77, passed away Sunday, October 9, 2016. He was born August 6, 1939 in Nash County to the late Willie Clarence and Oleta Bissette Cockrell. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a Step-daughter, Karen Brantley.

David is survived by his wife, Cindy Ezzell Cockrell; son, Bert Cockrell; daughter, Christie Cockrell and children; step-daughter, Robin Threatt(Danny); grandchildren, Daniel and Lizzie Threatt, Josh and Zack Brantley; sister, Delores Parker(Floyd); son-in-law, Mike Brantley; brother-in-law, Ricky Ezzell and numerous friends.

A funeral service will be held at 7:00pm on Thursday, October 13, 2016 at Cornerstone Funeral Home with Rev. Tim Andrews officiating. The visitation will follow the service. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Cornerstone Funeral Home towards funeral expenses.
