Steven Timothy Rooks, 62, passed away Thursday, September 15, 2016. He was born July 27, 1954 in Bronx, NY. Steven was preceded in death by his father, Benjamin Rooks.

He is survived by his mother Catherine O'Conney and husband Johnnie; three sons, Chris Rooks and wife Brandy, Brandon Rooks and wife Randi, Luke Rooks and fiancé Crystal; mother of his children, Debra Slavin; brother, Michael Rooks of Rocky Mount, step-brothers, Ernie Willis, Ray O'Conney of Rocky Mount and Wayne O'Conney of Washington; sisters, Theresa Peaden and husband Mike of Wilson and Diane Stanley of Rocky Mount; step-sister, Elaine Vaughn and Carolyn Allsbrook of Rocky Mount; 8 grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Memorial service will be held Sunday, September 18, 2016 at 3 p.m. at Northside Community Baptist Church with Rev. Mark Pridgen officiating.
