George Eldridge Moore, age 89, passed away on Friday, September 9, 2016.

Born in Waycross, GA on October 21, 1926, he was the son of the late John Oliver Moore and Lucy Newsome Moore. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Aileen Womble Moore; his son George Eldridge Moore, Jr.; his sister, Arlette Stancil; and a brother, John Oliver "Bo" Moore.

He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Rich Moore of Rocky Mount; daughters, Lynn M. Wilson (Bill) of Wanchese and Sandy M. Stover (Keith) of Apex; son, Richard Moore (Mary) of Greenville; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Services will be held Wednesday, September 14, 2016 at 2 p.m. at St. Andrews Episcopal Church, 301 S. Circle Drive, Rocky Mount with Father George Greer officiating. Visitation will follow the service in the Commons area at St Andrews Episcopal Church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in George's name to St. Andrews Episcopal Church, 301 S. Circle Drive, Rocky Mount, NC 27804.
