Floyd Rogers, age 91, of Rocky Mount, passed away on Thursday, September 8, 2016. Born in Wilson County on October 3, 1924, he was the son of the late Alex Rodgers and Sue Amerson Rodgers. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Rogers; son-in-law, Braxton Sherrod; and nine brothers and sisters.

He is survived by his children, Donald Rogers (Judy) of Nashville; William Rogers (Dianne) of Rocky Mount; and Vickie R. Sherrod of Rocky Mount; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Services will be held on Monday, September 12, 2016 at 11 a.m. in the Chapel of Wheeler and Woodlief Funeral Home & Cremation Services with Dr. Jacky Raper officiating. Burial will follow at Rocky Mount Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Free Will Baptist Church of Rocky Mount, P. O. Box 483, Rocky Mount, NC 27802.
