Funeral services for William "Joe" Williams, 69, of Nashville, who died Wednesday, August 31, 2016, will be held Friday, Sept. 9, at 1 p.m. at Hickory Grove Baptist Church in Castalia, with Pastor Bobby Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in the Hickory Grove Church cemetery.

He is survived by his daughter, Tonya Dowdy (Scotty) of Middlesex; sons, Melvin Williams (Tina) of Spring Hope, Desi Williams of Louisburg; sister, Janet James of Bronx, NY; brothers, Charlie "Bud" Williams (Barbara) of Henderson, Larry Williams of Mt. Vernon, N. Y., James Williams of Louisburg, Michael Williams of Bronx, N.Y.; and seven grandchildren.

Open visitation will be held on Thursday, Sept. 8, from 3 until 7 p.m. at Richardson Funeral Home in Louisburg.
