Mannis Hardins Evans, 93, passed away August 31, 2016. He was born March 26, 1923 to the late Oris and Lucy Harris Evans. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sons, Nathaniel, Quincy and Roger Evans, four brothers and 2 sisters. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.

He is survived by his wife Hazel Lynch Evans; daughters, Juanita Evans Richardson (Percy), Yvonne Evans Richardson, Willie Mae Richardson, Glenda Silver and Prenesia Anstead; sons, Mannis Lee and Welton Evans (Mary); sisters, Levonia Chamblee and Etheleane Silver; brothers, William and Oris Evans; eight grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren.

A funeral service was held Saturday, September 3, 2016 at Mt. Bethel Baptist Church in Hollister, with Rev. Willie D. Silver officiating.
