NASHVILLE – Van Buren Williams Sr., 89, died Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2008. Funeral services were held Feb. 10 at Johnson Chapel of Nashville. Burial followed at the Free Union Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery in Spring Hope.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Strickland Williams.

Survivors include two sons, Van Buren Williams Jr. and wife Barbara of North Augusta, S.C., and Jimmy D. Williams and wife Jan of The Villages, Fla.; four grandchildren; and
