James Ulysses Murphy, of Rocky Mount, passed away Thursday, August 25, 2016.

Visitation will be held at Mount Vernon Church in Nashville on Tuesday, August 30 from 11 a.m - 12 noon. Funeral services will follow at 12 noon. Burial will follow in the Oakland Cemetery.

He is survived by his sisters, Barbara Kinder of Baltimore, MD., Peggie Murphy of Baltimore, MD, Jeannette Williams of Durham, Dorothine Speller of Springfield, VA, Bernette Moody of Nashville, NC, Annette Davis of Los Angelos, CA; brothers, Charles Murphy of Hampton VA, MacArthur Murphy of Baltimore, MD.
