ROCKY MOUNT – Charles Cooper Harris, Jr., died Wednesday, February 6, 2008. Mr. Harris was the son of the late Charles Cooper and Beulah Joyner Harris and the brother of the late Carolyn Harris Webb. He was married to Shields Jones Harris, also of Rocky Mount, for 60 years.

Mr. Harris is also survived by his daughters Shields Daughtridge Harris and Millie Harris Walker and husband William L. Walker, Jr., all of Rocky Mount; son, Charles Cooper Harris, III, of East Hampton, NY; and 5 grandchildren.

The family received friends at the home. A memorial service for Mr. Harris was held on Friday, February 8, at 11 AM at the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd, 231 N. Church Street, followed by inurnment at the Church columbarium. The family greeted friends after the service.
