Ben C. Richardson, age 88, of Rocky Mount, passed away on Friday, August 12, 2016. Born in Nash County on November 10, 1927, he was the son of the late Charlie C. Richardson and Gertrude Cullifer Richardson. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Doris Currin Richardson.

He is survived by his son, Benjamin Charles Richardson and his wife, Gray, of Rocky Mount and his daughter, Lisa A. Richardson also of Rocky Mount; two grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; sister, Mary R. Gurley of Orlando, FL.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at 11 a.m. in the Chapel of Wheeler and Woodlief Funeral Home & Cremation Services. A Committal Service will follow at Pineview Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 10 - 10:45 a.m. prior to the service. Friends and guest are also welcome to visit with the family on Tuesday evening, from 6- 8:30 p.m. at the home of Major Ben C. Richardson.
