Peggy Turner Ellison, age 83, of Nashville, passed away on Wednesday, August 10, 2016. Born in Edgecombe County on December 13, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Jacob "Jake" Turner and Pauline Evelyn Jones Turner. She was also preceded in death by her son, Russell Ellison; brothers, Earl, Lee Roy, Billy, and Freddie Turner; and sisters, Pauline Turner Joyner; and Betty Turner Crooker.

She is survived by her son, Ronnie Ellison and wife, Connie, of Rocky Mount; and her daughters, Mary Ann Ellison Adkins of Nashville; and Gloria Ellison Crocker and husband, Herbert, of Nashville; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; one great great-grandson; brother, Ray Turner of Pinetops; sisters, Rose Turner Carroll of Rocky Mount; and Melba Turner Carpenter of Rocky Mounts.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 13, 2016 at 12 p.m. in the Chapel of Wheeler and Woodlief Funeral Home & Cremation Services with Rev. Allen Mills officiating. Burial will follow at Mill Branch Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 11:00 AM to 11:45 AM prior to the service.
