Garland Gene "G-Man" Joyner, age 78, of Rocky Mount, passed away on Saturday, August 6, 2016. Born in Nash County on May 16, 1938, he was the son of the late Willis Columbus Joyner and Elsie Joyner. He was also preceded in death by brothers, Randolph, Lotis, James, and Ricky Joyner; and sisters, JoAnn Rizzo and Joyce Hagans.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Carole Glover Joyner; son, Jeff Joyner and wife, Susan, of Rocky Mount; and daughter, Kelly Joyner Casale and husband, Dr. Joe Casale, of Marietta, GA; six grandchildren; one great-grandson.

Services will be held on Tuesday, August 9, 2016 at 11 a.m. in the Chapel of Wheeler and Woodlief Funeral Home & Cremation Services with Rev. Lutrell Spell and Rev. Mackie Walters officiating. Burial will follow at Rocky Mount Memorial Park. The family will receive friends and relatives Monday, August 8, 2016 from 7-8:30 p.m. at Wheeler and Woodlief Funeral Home & Cremation Services.
