Amy "Lorene" Barnes Murchison, age 91, of Rocky Mount, passed away on Wednesday, July 13, 2016. Born in Nash County, on August 18, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Needie Clarence Barnes and Amy Stancil Barnes. She was also preceded in death by her husband, LeRoy C. Murchison; a son, John L. "Larry" Murchison; and her sister, Betty Barnes Cavanaugh.

She is survived by her son, Ken Murchison of Rocky Mount; one granddaughter; two great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
