Mildred Rebecca Pope, age 74, of Rocky Mount, passed away on Friday, July 15, 2016. Born in Edgecombe County on September 4, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Edwin Proctor and Ivy King Proctor. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James Edwin Jones.

She is survived by her sons, Edwin T. Jones and wife, Gina, of Rocky Mount, Glenn S. Jones and wife, Darlene, of Greenville, Jeffery A. Jones and wife, Teresa, of Southern Pines; daughters, Kim L. Cobb and husband, Timothy, of Rocky Mount, Robin L. Smith and husband, Carl, of Wilson; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sister, Mary A. Harris of Tarboro; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 20, 2016 11 a.m. in the Chapel of Wheeler and Woodlief Funeral Home & Cremation Services. Burial will follow at Rocky Mount Memorial Park. The family will receive friends and relatives Tuesday, July 19, 2016 from 7-8:30 p.m. at Wheeler and Woodlief Funeral Home & Cremation Services.
