THELMA BRADBURY PHILLIPS


WILSON – Thelma Lee Sikes Bradbury Phillips, 88, of Wilson died Friday. Funeral services were conducted 2:00 p.m. Monday in the chapel of Joyner’s Funeral Home. Interment followed in Stantonsburg Cemetery. The Revs. Carroll Bradbury, Tim McFatter, and Robert Langley officiated.

Mrs. Phillips is survived by two daughters, Marjorie B. Scott of Wilson and Joyce Cockrell and husband J.R. of Nashville; three sons, James “Jim” Bradbury and wife Edith of Gloucester, VA, Jesse Bradbury and wife Marie of Nashville and Carroll Bradbury and wife Patricia of Wilson; daughter-in-law, Kay Bradbury of Wilson; ten grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mary Whaley and Mildred Lamm, both of Wilson, and Eula Crocker of Suffolk, VA; step-children, J.T. Phillips, Ruth Pearson, Maxine Parnell, and Dorothy Cunnington.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Luther Bradbury and Millard Phillips; a son, Eugene Bradbury Jr.; parents, John and Lula Holland Sikes; sister, Leatha Speight; brothers, John W. Sikes, Joseph Sikes, and Chester Sikes.

The family will receive friends 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Sunday at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway and other times at 4338 US 264 Alt. East, Wilson.
