Rocky Mount - Larby “Tom” Strickland, 80, died Saturday, February 2, 2008. He was born April 14, 1927 to the late Billie G. and Lillie Privette Strickland. He is preceded in death by his wife Dollie Mae Strickland and daughters, Bonnie Strickland and Martha Cook.

Survivors include a sister, Nancy Mullins of Spring Hope, a son Daney Strickland, Sr. of Oklahoma; two daughters, Sallie Owens of Macclesfield and Tina Waters of Pinetops; 4 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

The family received friends 7-8:30 p.m., Monday, February 4, 2008 at Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home. A graveside service was held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, February 5, 2008 at Pineview Cemetery in Rocky Mount.
